Community Guidelines

PetsGo is for UAE pet owners helping each other. These guidelines keep the community useful, safe, and kind.

1. The Short Version

  • Be kind, factual, and useful.
  • Help lost pets without exploiting urgent situations.
  • Do not share private information without permission.
  • Do not harass, threaten, shame, scam, spam, or impersonate others.
  • Report safety issues instead of escalating fights.

2. Be Helpful and Respectful

PetsGo is a practical pet-owner community. You can share tips, local experiences, health-record reminders, directory feedback, pet-friendly places, and Lost & Found updates. Keep posts clear, honest, and respectful.

3. Lost & Found Rules

  • Only create Lost & Found alerts for genuine missing, found, or sighting-related pet situations.
  • Include useful details such as area, time, pet description, and safe contact preferences.
  • Do not demand payment to return a pet.
  • Do not post another person's private address, phone number, Emirates ID, passport, or private documents.
  • Do not falsely claim ownership of a pet.
  • Use caution before meeting anyone in person and involve relevant authorities or clinics where appropriate.

Lost & Found is free in PetsGo. Always.

4. Content We Do Not Allow

  • Threats, harassment, bullying, stalking, or targeted abuse.
  • Hate speech or attacks based on nationality, race, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected traits.
  • Graphic violence, animal cruelty, sexual content, or exploitative content.
  • Scams, spam, fake giveaways, misleading rescue requests, or suspicious fundraising.
  • Medical claims that present unsafe advice as a replacement for licensed veterinary care.
  • Defamation, false accusations, or reviews that are not based on a real experience.
  • Content that breaks UAE law or encourages illegal activity.

5. Reviews, Ratings, and Directory Suggestions

You may share honest experiences with vets, groomers, pet-friendly places, shelters, and services. Keep feedback specific and fair. Do not post private staff information, personal insults, fake ratings, competitor attacks, or claims you cannot support.

Directory information can change. If you see incorrect opening hours, location details, pet policy, phone numbers, or photos, use the app's feedback tools so the PetsGo team can review it.

6. Privacy and Safety

  • Do not post someone else's phone number, home address, private messages, documents, photos, or personal details without permission.
  • Do not pressure users to reveal private information.
  • Do not move disputes from PetsGo into harassment on other platforms.
  • Do not share exact home locations in public posts unless you are comfortable making them visible.

7. Pet Health Conversations

You can ask for general support and share personal experience, but PetsGo community content is not veterinary advice. Encourage owners to contact licensed vets, especially for urgent symptoms, poisoning, injury, breathing issues, seizures, heat stress, or severe pain.

8. Reporting and Blocking

If you see content or behaviour that breaks these guidelines, report it in the app. You can also block users. Reports help the PetsGo team review safety issues, spam, abuse, and misleading content.

9. Enforcement

PetsGo may remove content, hide posts, reject images, limit features, warn users, suspend accounts, delete accounts, or contact relevant authorities where needed. We may use automated systems and human review to support moderation.

Serious or repeated violations can lead to permanent account removal.
